DISCOVER OAKHURST & YOSEMITE
Once called Fresno Flats, Oakhurst, California is the largest community in the foothills of Madera County. Ahwahnee (uh-wah-nee) was named after one of the many indigenous tribes that lived in the area. The city is located on the Fresno River 3 miles (4.8 km) south-southwest of Yosemite Forks at an elevation of 2,274 feet (693 m).
